Australian Drinking Water Record.

Empowering decisions with data and research infrastructure for water justice.

The Australian Drinking Water Record (ADWR) has been developed by the Water Justice Hub with funding from Equity Trustees, and with financial and in-kind support from the Australian Research Council and the Australian National University (ANU). It is an Australia-wide public data and research infrastructure designed to respond to persistent knowledge gaps in household drinking water quality across Australia. Guided by the Priority Reforms of Closing the Gap and aligned with the December 2025 Updated Draft National Water Agreement, the ADWR promotes equitable access, recognition of Indigenous water values, and evidence-based, culturally responsive governance, contributing to water justice across Australia. We welcome collaboration with governments, utilities, researchers, and communities to continue expanding and strengthening the database. We are particularly interested in partnerships that enhance the accessibility of data in regional and remote areas, and in the Country of First Peoples.
