The Reformed Church of Bern, together with the capital of Switzerland, Bern, and the University of Bern, 2014 became the first Blue Community outside of Canada.
On Sunday, August 23rd at 10:00 AM, a large baptismal festival will take place around the Nydegghof, supported by all the city’s parishes. After a joint opening service in the church, those being baptized, along with their families, will proceed to the Ländtetor on the Aare River, a fountain in the Matte district, the Längmuur playground, or other baptismal sites in the area. There, the ritual will be individually tailored for each child, teenager, or adult. Back at the Nydegghof, everyone is invited to enjoy a complimentary lunch and musical entertainment by the band “Katze Steffan.” The pastors in the parishes are now accepting registrations from interested parties.
