RISECOM – RISE COMMUNITIES AFRICA is a non-profit entity, addressing community challenges in Uganda through different interventions, through community and media centered approaches. RISECOM runs the Rise News Uganda Network as its media arm. Under Rise News Uganda Network it promots water bodies conservation and health. Community Empowerment Projects are implemented by both, the NGO and the media website.

RISECOM also runs a Community Empowerment Site in a rural part of western Uganda where it will establish a safe water harvest / collection and distribution station to reach around 100,000 people in this community.

RISECOM is strong in championing community and media interventions through awareness, storytelling and media advocacy, doing in-depth stories, media and community engagements highlighting the current situation about water and sanitation related topics, dangers and challenges, solutions, sustainable development, and other related topics.

RISECOM plans to further expand the media network , community network and media coverage about water and related issues, local communities and sustainability.

Aaron Ainomugisha, Founder / Team Leader of RISECOM, states:

«Our community is facing escalating challenges due to drought, climate change and weather conditions that have negatively affected water bodies, environment and climate. As a journalist and team leader of RISECOM, I need the Blue Community as a wider network to do more impactful work. Our contribution will include extensive media advocacy and storytelling.»

Sir Charles Chitechi, President of the Kenyan Blue Community WASWAK and Blue Community Coordinator for Eastern Africa, welcomes RISECOM:

«We congratulate RISECOM for indeed raising communities and Media advocacy in a hostile environment like Uganda where activism whether positive or negative is both treated negatively.
Media advocacy and community engagement on matters human rights to Water and Sanitation services is absolutely our business as Blue Community Africa.
We won’t remain silent as millions of the African especially women, children and the vulnerable go without water and sanitation services. As you join the Blue Community Africa, we join hands to empower the communities in Uganda and Eastern Africa to arise and fight for their fundamental rights like accessing Water by all. We warmly welcome you to the Blue family.»
