You think it’s a good thing to have privatized water services, as it brings new money in and is more efficient? Think twice and see where your money goes:
Bonus blocked? No problem. Just call it an “allowance”…
United Utilities’ CEO was denied a £417,000 bonus following serious pollution incidents. Now she’s been handed a new £435,000 annual allowance instead – neatly sidestepping Ofwat’s rules on executive bonuses…
Meanwhile, United Utilities remains England’s worst sewage polluter, dumping sewage for almost 61,000 hours in 2025. 💩🤢 Enough is ENOUGH. If water companies pollute our rivers, executives should face real consequences – not new ways to reward themselves.
