Children in Mali: My first Book

From the Swiss Blue Community Kene Elou Te and its partner in Mali, the Blue Community Réseau Ecole RadioChico:

“My First Book – Children from Mali share stories about water, hope and community”

A particularly moving moment came when one of the children proudly held the book in his hands and said:

“My first book.”

“Seeds of Joy” is much more than a children’s book. Through their own words and drawings, the children share stories about water, seeds, nature, community, hope and the future.

As described in the project vision, children are not being spoken about – children are speaking for themselves.

The book was written and illustrated by children from Mali for children around the world. In this sense, it is not only a book, but also a bridge between different cultures, experiences and realities.

The joy in Kambila is great – and the journey of “Seeds of Joy” has only just begun.
