From the Blue Community Go Green Save The Environment from Malawi:

On 5 June, the world celebrated World Environment Day. In Nkhata Bay, an important environmental activity was organized by Go Green Save The Environment in collaboration with the District Council, Nkhata Bay District Hospital, and other stakeholders.
The event focused on a clean-up campaign around the hospital surroundings. Early in the morning, volunteers, community members, health workers, and local leaders gathered with cleaning tools and worked together to remove litter, clear overgrown grass, and properly dispose of waste.
The campaign aimed to promote a clean, healthy, and safe environment for patients, hospital staff, and visitors. Participants were encouraged to practice proper waste management and maintain good sanitation habits to prevent diseases and improve public health. The activity was successful and demonstrated the importance of teamwork in protecting the environment. By the end of the day, the hospital surroundings were cleaner and more attractive, creating a healthier environment for everyone. The event also raised awareness about the need to keep public places clean and to care for the environment every day, not only on World Environment Day.
