Illegal constructions: OLUCOME calls for compliance with the Water Code.
Gabriel Rufyiri, president of OLUCOME ( Observatory for the Fight Against Corruption and Economic Malfeasance), is raising the alarm about the proliferation of buildings erected in violation of the Water Code in Bujumbura, the economic capital (of Burundi). He accuses the authorities of turning a blind eye to these practices and calls for the strict application of the law to prevent environmental risks.
