From the Swiss Blue Community Kene Elou Te and their partner in Mali, the Blue Community Réseau Ecole RadioChico RERC:
The children of the École RadioChico-KeneElouTe in Mali have written their own book.
“Seeds of Joy” tells of their experiences, hopes, and ideas. The book grew out of the children’s lives.
Together, they learned to create school gardens, protect water as a precious resource, build solar ovens, preserve trees, tell stories, produce radio podcasts, and take responsibility for their community. Their texts emerged from these experiences.
The Arabic translation is complete and has been edited. The illustrations are also finished.
Now we want to make this book accessible to children and young people in Arabic-speaking countries – in schools, libraries, educational projects, and especially to children growing up in difficult circumstances, such as in Gaza.
Our goal is to have the books printed in the respective countries whenever possible. This will shorten transport routes, strengthen local structures, and ensure the books are produced where they will be read.
Therefore, we cannot yet provide a firm price for printing costs, as these depend on the respective country and printing partner.
We welcome individuals, organizations, foundations, and partners who would like to help make the Arabic edition of “Graines de joie” (Seeds of Joy) possible.
Every donation—large or small—helps ensure that the stories, experiences, and hopes of children from Mali can reach children in the Arabic-speaking world.
