Swiss Science Brief: All Eyes on Water

Water is the central thread in almost every challenge we face – and is not only a public good, but has become an important strategic resource and diplomatic tool. 💧🌎

Together with SwissCore and the Mission of Switzerland to the EU, we co-hosted the Swiss Science Briefing “Eyes on Water: Space, Science and Resilience to Water” to strengthen our network and to discuss the central topic of water and water resilience with our European partners.

With keynotes from our deputy director Christian Stamm and contributions from Marc Paganini of the European Space Agency – ESA , Liliana Pasecinic and Rolf-Jan H. from the European Commission , Pieter de Jong from Wetsus, European Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technology as well as the EU Science Diplomacy Alliance , the event showcased the importance of Swiss-EU cooperations.

Through keynote talks, panel discussions and networking, the event fostered knowledge exchange, built new relationships and strengthened existing partnerships to advance water resilience.

Water knows no borders, and Switzerland sits at the crossroads of Europe’s water resources. Collaboration, diplomacy and knowledge transfer are essential not only to address today’s water challenges, but also to develop sustainable and resilient solutions together with our European and global partners 💪🌍
