Empowering Nagaland Through Cybersecurity and Financial Literacy for Gig Workers and Communities.

As India rapidly embraces the digital economy, millions of people are benefiting from new opportunities while also facing increasing risks of cybercrime and financial fraud. In Nagaland, Arj Foundation is committed to ensuring that digital progress is safe, inclusive, and accessible by implementing Cybersecurity and Financial Literacy Programmes, with a special focus on Gig (GiG) Workers and other vulnerable communities.

Gig workers—including delivery partners, drivers, freelancers, online service providers, and platform-based workers—are the backbone of the emerging digital economy. However, they are often exposed to cyber threats, digital payment fraud, identity theft, phishing attacks, and financial insecurity due to limited access to awareness and support. Arj Foundation believes these workers deserve not only recognition but also the knowledge and protection required to thrive in the digital age.

Through community-based workshops, awareness campaigns, and practical training sessions, the Foundation equips participants with essential skills in cyber safety, secure digital transactions, online privacy, fraud prevention, responsible use of digital platforms, digital banking, UPI safety, savings, budgeting, financial planning, and access to government welfare and financial inclusion schemes.

The initiative also reaches youth, women, students, self-help groups, and underserved communities, promoting responsible digital citizenship and informed financial decision-making. By empowering individuals with practical knowledge, the programme strengthens livelihoods, enhances confidence in digital services, and reduces vulnerability to cyber-enabled exploitation.
