Report | Human right to sanitation with non-discrimination.
The UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation, Pedro Arrojo Agudo, is presenting his report to the Council that will analyze the human right to sanitation (A/HRC/63/XX). The human right to sanitation remains an unresolved challenge for millions of people, disproportionately affecting women, girls, and persons in vulnerable situations. Hygiene, including menstrual hygiene, although often omitted explicitly in legal formulations, is an integral part of the enjoyment of these rights in practice and a cornerstone of the human right to sanitation without discrimination.
