Germany is facing increasing water shortages. Britta Haßelmann, leader of the Green Party parliamentary group, is therefore calling for restrictions on industry and beverage manufacturers like Red Bull, if necessary.
In light of increasing water scarcity across Germany, the Green Party parliamentary group in the Bundestag is calling for stricter regulations on large industrial water consumers. “The extreme heat is not only taking a toll on the health of many people, but is also pushing our water supply to its limits,” said parliamentary group leader Britta Haßelmann to the Tagesspiegel. She added that if cities and districts are already restricting water consumption, it’s clear this situation cannot continue.
