Drought in the dunes? This is how we help prevent wildfires together!

In the event of persistent drought, the risk of wildfires in the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen increases. That is why we work closely with the fire brigade and the safety region to limit risks and keep the area safe. Because the sooner an incipient wildfire is discovered, the greater the chance that it will be limited.

Our forest rangers and management staff have been trained for this by the fire brigade and check the area more often. But prevention also starts with visitors. That is why we inform them through our website, information panels at the entrances and signs in the area.

Do you have plans to go into nature soon?
Then pay attention to this:
💧Don’t park your car in the grass
💧 Do not leave glass or waste behind
💧 Do not make a campfire or use a barbecue
💧 Do not smoke in the dune area

Do you discover an incipient fire? Then call 112 immediately. Don’t try to put out the fire yourself.
