Report – World Social Forum, Cotonou 2026
Five days of sharing
Five days of dialogue
Five days of networking
Five days of learning and joy of living.
Participating in the World Social Forum in Cotonou 2026 gave me a new opportunity to share the experiences of Radiochico Mali School.
Our strategy of protecting the earth through family gardens.
Our commitment to climate resilience and water justice.
And above all, our choice to cultivate joy in living together, even in the face of challenges.
Because another world is possible when we sow concrete solutions in our communities.
Taking part in this World Social Forum also opens the door to stronger actions, in line with the vision of Blue Community.
The cause of water is a major challenge: everyone must get more involved in its rational and equitable management.
For 5 days, we also learned from other organizations and civil society groups. Their expertise will strengthen our actions to achieve our goals.
Benin, a land of hospitality and sharing, where everyone had their share at the table.
The delegation of the World Council of Churches, which brings together several organizations including the Radio Chico Mali Keneeloute Network – Blue Community, facilitated 5 panels with experts.
Under the leadership of Mr. Dinesh Suna, the delegation was very active throughout the Forum processes in Benin.
On the agenda:
1. Land Justice Now
Legal pathways, community restitution, and accountable investment
2. Water for Life
Public management and community rights
(Resisting privatization, protecting water commons, and promoting gender-responsive water policies)
3. Fiscal Justice for Food Systems
Debt, subsidies, and support for smallholder farmers
4. Coalition Building
Churches, social movements, and the WSF
Each theme reflects added value to our organization’s vision.
What next after the Forum?
- A report on each activity will be shared with members of the Blue Community and the children of Radiochico Mali School KeneElouteTe.
- The experiences gained will be put into practice in our activities.
- Our communication policy and the rational management of our activities will be strengthened.
World Social Forum: “Water for Life” – “Another World is Possible”
Yes, it is with these slogans that we concluded our participation in the World Social Forum Benin 2026.
The next meeting is set for the International Water Conference scheduled for December in the United Arab Emirates.
