As part of the World Social Forum 2026, the World Council of Churches, WCC delegation held its first sharing and networking event.
Topic: “Land Justice Now: Protecting Communities from Land Grabs”

The event focused on: legal pathways, community restitution, and accountable investment.
The event was facilitated by Mr. Dinesh Suna, from the World Council of Churches, based in Switzerland.
He was joined by Michael Anan Tettey, member of the WCC delegation, and Rev. Daimon Mkandawire, Program Executive for Ecological Justice, WCC, along with other delegation members from various countries in Africa, the Middle East, and India.
Key points discussed:
- 1. Sharing of concrete experiences of struggles, resistance, and legal victories led by communities facing land grabs.
- Discussion on the role of Churches_ in this situation and their commitment to defending communities.
- Laying the foundations for a network of solidarity and joint action for land justice and the search for sustainable solutions.
This first step was concluded with a group photo of all participants.
