WCC at World Social Forum 2026

Around 20 representatives from West African churches and faith-based organizations will join a World Council of Churches (WCC) mission to the World Social Forum in Cotonou, Benin, 4–8 August. 

The World Social Forum is a global civil-society gathering held since 2001 under the slogan “Another World is Possible,” as a counterpoint to the World Economic Forum. The WCC’s programme on Ecumenical Advocacy for Land, Water, and Food is coordinating the mission. It will bring a faith-rooted voice on land, water, and food justice into the forum’s discussions.
