From the German Blue Community City and Region of Landsberg am Lech:
Working Together for a More Vibrant Wiesbach.
Blue Rangers Participate in the Wiesbach River Restoration.
At the Wiesbach stream in Landsberg am Lech, volunteer members of the Barbara Fishing Guild, the Bavarian State Fishing Association, the Landsberg branch of the Bund Naturschutz (Friends of the Earth Germany), the Blue Rangers, and employees of the City of Landsberg have taken another step toward a more natural and vibrant stream. The young Blue Rangers enthusiastically helped install and construct groynes, water features, and tree stumps. These structures alter the stream’s flow and create diverse habitats, providing new refuges and living spaces for fish and other small aquatic life. For the young people, this project offered a practical opportunity to take responsibility for our local streams.
With their efforts, the Blue Rangers demonstrate that caring for our streams and rivers begins right at our doorstep – and that working together can make a real difference.
