Mrs. Atya Kapley, Professor of Practice at the Raisoni Education, Nagpur, declares:

«Sustainable water security the need oft he hour. In my 30 years of experience in rejuvenation of contaminated sites, including water, I find that community participation is limited and mostly sporadic. Strengthening mechanisms for meaningful community ownership and decision-making is therefore a key reason for 1ny commitment to becoming a Blue Community. The global water crisis can only be tackled when all citizens acknowledge and understand the value of water, the challenges surrounding its availability and equitable access, and their own role and responsibility in protecting and sustainably managing this shared resource. This is my expectation and I would like to contribute to make this happen.
In the past, I have worked in the area of wastewater treatment and reuse. At GHRU, my goal is to
promote reuse of wastewater, carry out watershed management work that is essential for conserving
water resources, enhancing groundwater recharge, reducing land degradation, and building long-term
water security.»

Meena Rajesh, Raisoni University Vice Chancellor (G H Raisoni University , Saikheda Madhya Pradesh), states:

«Water ls a disappearing natural resource and working towards this conservation requires a comm unity effort. This is why the Blue Community would be good to join hands with. I expect that together we will bring about a mindset change in dealing with water issues. We already have an STP in the university campus so water can be reused. We can showcase this to other educational institutes and help build the water management community. Plastic bottles are mostly not used in our campus.
We plan to involve students in water management and promote methods to improve ground water recharge, i.e., work towards rain water harvesting and watershed management in semi-drought regions around our university.»

Madhukar Swayambhu, Secretary of the Blue Community South Asia Coordination Committee, Head Academic Coordination, and member of the Blue Community Global Council, welcomes the G H Raisoni University in the Blue Community:

«On behalf of the Blue Community Network, we are delighted to welcome G H Raisoni University and the group of institution, as our newest Blue University and member of the global Blue Community family.
By joining this growing movement of 300 Blue Communities across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, you join the fellow universities around the world in standing behind a shared set of commitments: recognizing water and sanitation as human rights, keeping water services in public hands, and protecting water as a common good for future generations.
We look forward to a very meaningful interaction between the Blue Universities and academia across the globe for the benefit of the students, faculties and over all academia a a whole.»
