From the Nepalese Blue Community Transformation Nepal:
Transformation Nepal (TFN) Supports Flood-Affected Families in Nuwakot.
On Sunday, September 6th, Transformation Nepal carried out a relief distribution for 100 families affected by recent flooding in Ward No. 8, Thumka, Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot district. The distribution included essential food items and mattresses, aimed at providing immediate relief to households who lost their homes, belongings, and sense of security in the disaster.
The handover program was held at the temporary holding center established at Shree Bhairum Secondary School – Bhairamkot, Bidur-8, Nuwakot, which has been sheltering displaced families — including many children — since the flooding struck the area. For weeks, the school premises have served as a makeshift home for those unable to return to their damaged or destroyed houses, making it a fitting and necessary site for the relief effort.
Each of the 100 families received a package of essential food supplies to help meet their immediate nutritional needs, along with mattresses to provide a basic level of comfort and dignity while living in the temporary shelter. For families who have lost nearly everything, even these basic provisions make a meaningful difference — offering a measure of stability as they begin the long process of recovery.
The initiative reflects Transformation Nepal ongoing commitment to disaster response and community welfare, particularly in reaching vulnerable populations — including children — during times of crisis. By working directly at the holding center, TFN ensured that support reached the families most directly affected, at the location where they currently reside.
TFN extends its gratitude to all Staffs, partners, volunteers, and supporters who made this distribution possible, and remains committed to continuing relief and recovery efforts for flood-affected communities in Nuwakot, Dhadhing and beyond.
