The Blue Community Network has grown far beyond what we imagined when it was launched in the spring of 2024. It has become the common platform through which Blue Communities around the world connect, exchange experiences, inspire one another, and promote the principles of water as a human right, public water governance, and the protection of water as a common good.
As the network continues to grow, so does the need for broader participation in shaping its future. This role is taken over by the Blue Community Council—an international advisory body bringing together representatives of Blue Communities and Blue Community Ambassadors from our different Chapters (regions) and Clusters (sectors).
The Blue Community Council was established on 10 August 2026 with the adoption of its charter (see Blue News here). You can download the charter as a PDF here.
The Blue Community Council discusses topics relevant to the core pledges of the Blue Community.
Two Commissions are working on specific key priorities:
- Global Policy, Advocacy & Governance
- Local Impact – Capacity Building, Children & Youth, “Yes We Can”
