There is no agreed definition for the term Southern Africa. The Blue Community Chapter Southern Africa includes the countries of Angola, Botswana, Eswatini (Swaziland), Lesotho, Namibia, and South Africa.

Isabel Botha is a lawyer, business leader, and founder of The Mowana Project, whose life and work span three continents. Born in South Africa and raised in Lobatse, Botswana, she was admitted to the high courts of both countries before relocating to London and later Australia. She serves as the Blue Community Contact Point for Southern Africa.

| The Municipality of uMlalazi is an administrative area in the King Cetshwayo District of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. The municipality is named after the uMlalazi River. uMlalazi joined the Blue Community on April 22, 2025, as the first affiliate in South Africa and as the first municipality on the continent. |

On World Toilet Day 2025, 19 November, the Sanitation Ambassadors joined the Blue Community. |
