The story of the Save Mission Community (SMC) began 2024 at the Christ Calvary Church, Wahugapitiya, Pussellawa, Sri Lanka. Driven by compassion, SMC started serving village communities with free education programs, medical camps, and outreach activities. SMC was most active in the Dhitwa Tropical region, where they saw lives being transformed every single day through their grassroots efforts.
In their commitment to the Blue Community, SMC states:
Save Mission Community of Sri Lanka has been committed to serving vulnerable and marginalized communities through humanitarian and community development initiatives. We have worked to improve the well-being of people by creating awareness about healthy living, supporting community needs, and promoting care for people and the environment. Through our programs, we have encouraged communities to understand the importance of clean water, hygiene, and responsible use of natural resources.
We recognize the importance of strengthening public responsibility in water management and ensuring that safe drinking water and sanitation services remain accessible and affordable for all, especially marginalized and vulnerable communities.
Our goal is to
- empower children, youth, and communities through access to education, skill development, and capacity-building opportunities while promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable living.
- improve the overall well-being of communities by addressing basic needs, promoting dignity, and ensuring awareness and access to safe and clean water.
- improve health and quality of life by addressing healthcare needs and promoting preventive health education.
- extend care, compassion, and practical support to individuals and communities facing difficult circumstances.
- build meaningful partnerships to create sustainable solutions for social, environmental, and water-related challenges.
Save Mission Community of Sri Lanka is committed to promoting safe water access, protecting water resources, improving community health, and empowering people to build a sustainable future for generations to come.
