In September 2013, the Blue Community sprang over from Canada to Europe, when Maude Barlow, Chairperson of the Council of Canadians and co-founder of the Blue Community visited Switzerland for a big conference. In the meantime, there are some 100 Blue Communities in Europe, from cities and villages to universities and schools, public water services and their associations, parishes, NGO etc.
