The campaign “Be Parisian, Drink Tap Water” by the Blue Community / Blue City of Paris is rolling out! MIJE youth hostels, a non-profit association running three hostels in the heart of Paris, in the Marais, and organizing trips for young people, choose to be part of the establishments deploying the campaign. The goal is to tell tourists that tap water in Paris is drinkable, good for your health, free, and above all that it is the ecological alternative to limit plastic pollution.
Launched by the public water service Eau de Paris with the support of the City of Paris and Paris je t’aime, the city’s tourist office, the campaign is based on an observation: more than three out of four visitors buy plastic bottles for use unique during their stay in Paris. Could this be due to a lack of information, to distrust? 4 out of 5 Parisians drink Paris water every day: the campaign emphasizes the fact that residents have confidence in tap water.
