Veolia Canada has been awarded a five-year contract extension to continue operating and maintaining the City of Moncton’s drinking water treatment plant. The extension builds upon Veolia’s long-standing partnership with the city, which began in 1999.
The Moncton facility serves a population of over 150,000 residents in three local communities, providing safe and reliable drinking water. The contract renewal not only ensures the continued delivery of high-quality water services but will also include a number of initiatives such as increasing onsite solar energy generation to offset energy use at the plant, energy efficiency monitoring as well as biodiversity projects in and around the operation. Combining water and energy services is consistent with Veolia’s GreenUp strategy for innovations in depollution, decarbonization and regenerating resources.
