The Blue Community is pleased to welcome the first Blue School on the African continent into its network: the *Centre David est Roi* (David is King Center) Orphanage.
The *Centre David est Roi* (CDR), located in Kati, Mali, is a non-profit religious association—operating without regard to race or religion—established under Law No. 038 of August 5, 2004, governing associations in the Republic of Mali. The CDR provides care for orphans, destitute children, widows, abandoned children, and children in difficult circumstances.
In 2007, the association established an orphanage in the Kati Koko Plaine Extension area; the construction of the building was fully funded by the Swiss Christian Mission at a cost of nearly 20 million CFA francs. Built on a site covering nearly 2,000 m², the land was acquired through a fruitful partnership between the Mission Chrétienne Mali association, the Kati urban municipality, and the Swiss Christian Mission. The perimeter wall was funded by the Church of God of Prophecy (based in the United States), while the furnishings and equipment (beds, mattresses, kitchen utensils) were funded by the “Living Stones” Church in England.

Tamagui Joseph Moussiané, President of the CDR, explains:
«I share the same vision as the Blue Community: I am called to conserve resources and help others in need. I work extensively with children in this area. I think about how a child can become self-sufficient upon reaching adulthood. I am establishing a school focused on agriculture, livestock farming, and fishing.«»
