The Danish scientists and Kenyatta university students will be at Mpala research center and Ol Pejeta conservancy in Nanyuki for ten days demonstrating how to collect data on wildlife and water conservation using drones.

Our meeting focused primarily on our possible collaboration in the following areas:

  1. Digital and smart climate initiatives for the conservation of our water resources, using drones and robots and the latest technology;
  2. The use of drones in the digitalisation of our water and sewage reticulation system. Digitalisation has proven to be an effective modern tool for non-revenue water (NRW) management within water supply companies (WSPs). The possibility of our members being sponsored to attend higher learning institutions that will partner with us on this programme, such as Meru University, which has already introduced a Bachelor of Science in Water and Sanitation to study this modern technology in depth.
  3. We also looked into the possible collaborate on advocacy for the human right to water and sanitation for all under the Kenya Blue Community Africa Network.
